$117,000 - $141,000 Role Overview The Test Engineer 2 delivers application and systems testing support within a mission-critical environment governed by strict compliance and operational standards. This role focuses on executing functional and compliance testing, diagnosing complex technical issues, documenting test outcomes, and supporting the end-to-end software test lifecycle. The position requires solid hands-on Linux experience and the ability to operate independently across technical, cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Systems & Application Testing:
Execute application-level and systems testing to validate critical mission requirements, including functional testing of COTS and vendor-provided user client applications.
Interface & Compliance Verification:
Verify that client applications correctly interface and operate with ITS components while adhering to strict technical, security, and operational compliance mandates.
Test Lifecycle Execution:
Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test cases, procedures, and test result documentation across all testing phases.
Defect Investigation & Resolution:
Identify, isolate, document, and track software/system defects through resolution; collaborate with engineering and operations teams to validate corrective fixes.
Linux Environment Operations:
Utilize Linux command-line utilities to perform deep-dive troubleshooting, log analysis, and system verification.
Process Improvement:
Assist in modernizing test methodologies, refining standard operating procedures, and expanding test automation capabilities.
Required Qualifications Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Experience & Education:
Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five (5) years of relevant testing experience, OR Ten (10) years of Test Engineer experience in lieu of a degree.
Operating Systems:
Solid hands-on experience working in Linux environments, including navigation and troubleshooting via command-line tools.
Testing Expertise:
Proven background in application-level functional testing, systems verification, defect tracking, and test procedure documentation.

$117,000 - $141,000 base salary, evaluated based on experience, skill level, and contractual requirements.
