Job Description

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop printed circuit board assembly concepts through to production, to ensure robust, cost sensitive design solutions.
  • Work with the Electrical Engineer to develop and implement solid design concepts to meet the requirements defined in customer contract.
  • Management of external design resources to complete PCB layout activities and Component Library maintenance.
  • Creation and management of PCBA and component library design rules, implementing Internal Lighting Design best practices and standards.
  • Work with electrical engineers and TE to Perform PCBA layout studies and packaging studies.
  • Verification of incoming mechanical data files and work with mechanical engineering staff to establish good design practices and standards.
  • PCB layout and assembly drawing creation.
  • Component symbol and footprint creation.
  • Work with a global team of PCB layout experts to make a common set Internal Lighting design practices and policies.
  • Training of Jr. level designers as needed.
  • Training of Engineering resources on Altium best practices.
  • PCB panelization studies.
PCB/PCBA
release file preparation using Altium outjob file
  • Gerbers, schematics, BOMs, etc.
  • Establish Best practices with Component suppliers and Contract Manufacturers for Pad stacks and footprint optimization and design for manufacturability.
  • Must be able to develop and discuss rules for Design for Manufacturability for PCBs and PCB Assemblies.
  • Support VA/VE initiatives for PCBs.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 7•15 years' experience in schematic capture design and PCB layout.
  • 3•5 years' experience in Automotive design, or design of high reliability devices preferred.
  • Altium Designer
  • Expert level.
  • Solid experience for layout of printed circuit boards of all type FR4, MCPCB, flex circuit, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic design standards relative to PCB manufacture and PCB assembly
  • Expert knowledge of electronic components
  • Able to read and create schematics and modify schematic.
  • Able to communicate rules and requirements through verbal and written media.
  • Some knowledge of simulations through Altium Designer a plus Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00
  • $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
