  • Your role and responsibilities
  • As a
Hardware Developer:
Generalist, you will use design documentation to develop IBM hardware and technology products, ensuring components are unit tested and ready for integration. You will work on delivering quality systems to meet market needs, establishing relationships across IBM and with external suppliers/vendors.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
    Develop Hardware Products:
    Use design documentation, such as Functional Specifications and high-level design documents, to develop server systems, storage systems, and networking systems, ensuring components are unit tested and ready for integration.
      Provide Fixes:
      Deliver fixes to defects identified by the verification team during the development life cycle, ensuring quality systems meet market needs.
        Test and Validate:
        Test the functional and RAS aspects of the implementation, supporting customer environments in providing end-to-end solutions and resolution of issues.
        • Collaborate with
        Suppliers:
        Establish relationships across IBM and with external suppliers/vendors to support the development of quality systems.
          Support Customer Environments:
          Provide support for customer environments, delivering end-to-end solutions and resolving issues.
          • Required technical and professional expertise
          • Exposure to
          Hardware Development:
          Familiarity with design documentation, such as Functional Specifications and high-level design documents, to develop hardware and technology products.
            Understanding of Testing Methodologies:
            Knowledge of testing functional and RAS aspects of implementations, including unit testing and integration.
            • Experience with
            Defect Resolution:
            Exposure to delivering fixes to defects identified during the development life cycle.
            • Familiarity with
            Supplier Collaboration:
            Understanding of establishing relationships with external suppliers/vendors to support development.
            • Exposure to
            Customer Support:
            Familiarity with providing end-to-end solutions and resolving issues in customer environments.
            • Preferred technical and professional experience
            • Mechanical Engineering Knowledge:
              Exposure to mechanical engineering principles and practices in the development of hardware and technology products.
            Electrical Engineering Understanding:
            Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and their application in server systems, storage systems, and networking systems.
              Firmware Engineering Exposure:
              Experience working with firmware engineering principles and practices in the development of hardware and technology products.
