Job Description
Job Title:
Sr. Hardware Engineer Job Description Perform electrical hardware design of printed circuit board assemblies for harsh environment Layer 2 and Layer 3 Industrial Ethernet Switches. Execute hardware verification on new products and provide lifecycle support from inception to end of life, addressing field issues not managed by field support personnel. Offer input into manufacturing processes to ensure successful and efficient product production. Analyze and interpret new product requirements to meet commercial objectives. Responsibilities
+ Design and develop printed circuit board assemblies for industrial Ethernet switches.
+ Conduct hardware verification and testing for new products.
+ Provide lifecycle support, addressing field issues and ensuring product quality.
+ Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes.
+ Analyze product requirements to align design projects with commercial goals. Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE).
+ Over 6 years of experience with both analog and digital design.
+ Extensive experience with low voltage power supply design (DC up to 138V).
+ Proficiency in schematic entry and design for EMC compliance.
+ Experience in embedded CPU, microprocessor, and SoC design.
+ Strong experience in networking design, including 1Gb/10Gb Ethernet, switching, and
NOR/NAND
flash memory. Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in designing for harsh environments (-40C to +75C).
+ EMC compliance testing experience (UL, CSA, TUV, FCC).
+ PoE design expertise (IEEE 802.3bt).
+ Knowledge of programmable logic and FPGA design.
+ Experience with fiber optic interface design.
+ Proficiency in PCB layout, especially high-speed and EMI considerations.
+ Experience in DFM/DFT.
+ Previous mentoring or leadership experience. Work Environment This role is based in a normal office environment with a moderate noise level. The job requires occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching. The position involves consistent work on a PC and requires the ability to sit and use a keyboard and/or telephone for over 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
