Job Role and Responsibility:
AMD Design, LLC, a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Hardware Development Engineer to Research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties. Design electronic circuits and components. Coordinate system bring up and reworks for the functional teams on main projects assigned to beneficiary. Run hardware debug on faulty systems. Perform electrical validation testing. Perform system performance testing. Perform hardware testing and verification side of projects. Engage in planning meetings for system development cycle. Perform debugging on hardware electrical issues that occur on boards and servers. Participate in system and board design reviews. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various company proprietary products. Multiple openings. Degree required Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications:
Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required:
The following skills are required: Position requires three (3) years of experience in the following: Hardware verification and testing; Product development cycles for semiconductor products; Unix and Linux environments; Programming in C, C++, or Python; Server systems; System design and testing; and Circuit board design.
