Micro Systems Engineering, Inc. This 3-4 month paid internship provides hands-on, project-based experience within our Integrated Circuit (IC) Design team at our Sugar Land, Texas office . Interns work closely with experienced IC designers and cross‑functional engineering partners, contributing to active development efforts for implantable medical devices. This internship is open to junior- or senior‑level undergraduates, master's students, and PhD students pursuing relevant engineering disciplines. Why Choose MSEI Work on life-saving implantable medical technologies Hands-on exposure to real-world IC design in a regulated medical device environment Close mentorship from experienced IC design engineers Collaborative, mission-driven culture Networking, educational, and social events Competitive pay and meaningful project ownership Primary Responsibilities As an IC Design Intern, you can expect to: Support the design and development of custom integrated circuits for implantable medical devices Assist with digital, analog and/or mixed-signal circuit design , simulation, and verification Perform RTL coding, functional verification, schematic capture, circuit analysis, and design reviews under engineer supervision Support activities such as layout review, design-for-test (DFT), and design-for-reliability Help analyze test data, silicon results, and yield data to support design improvements Document design work and contribute to technical reports and presentations Collaborate with systems, firmware, verification, and manufacturing engineering teams Required Qualifications Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (junior or senior year), Master's, or PhD program in: Coursework or academic project experience in IC design, analog circuits, or semiconductor devices Familiarity with circuit analysis and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE-based tools) Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Interest in medical devices or highly reliable electronics Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Must have current U.S. work authorization MSEI does not sponsor work authorization for internship roles Applicants requiring future visa sponsorship (e.g., E, F-1, H-1, H-2, L, B, J, or TN) are not eligible Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience with digital, analog or mixed-signal IC design Exposure to Verilog, DV, Cadence, Virtuoso, Spectre, or similar EDA tools Understanding of CMOS processes, device physics, or IC layout concepts Experience analyzing lab or silicon test data Interested?
