Job Description

Seeking an experienced Nuclear Digital Design Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support digital modernization initiatives at a nuclear generating station. This senior-level role focuses on designing, documenting, and implementing digital engineering changes for plant computer systems and related technologies. The ideal candidate has extensive experience authoring engineering change packages, modernizing legacy systems, and working independently on complex digital engineering projects within a regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Author Engineering Change (EC) packages for digital system upgrades. Develop engineering solutions for Digital Engineering Design (DEG) projects. Design and document virtualization of legacy plant computer systems. Support migration of multiple system functions to modern, integrated platforms. Prepare technical documentation, engineering analyses, and design deliverables. Apply engineering principles to complex digital modernization projects. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project teams throughout project execution. Support plant computer upgrades utilizing a tiered architecture approach. Required Qualifications 15+ years of Digital Design Engineering experience. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in digital engineering and plant computer systems. Experience authoring Engineering Change (EC) packages. Experience supporting digital modernization and legacy system upgrades. Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies. Ability to independently solve complex engineering problems with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with the EPRI Digital Engineering Guide (DEG) process.
Working knowledge of:
Modbus
OPC DA/DC OPC UA
Experience with tiered plant computer architectures. Experience with
WINVMS , WINPMS
, or comparable plant information management platforms. Previous experience supporting nuclear power generation facilities is strongly preferred. What You'll Bring Advanced technical expertise in digital engineering and plant computer systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities. Experience working in highly regulated engineering environments. Ability to lead complex engineering efforts with minimal supervision.
Pay:
$102.00 - $104.00 per hour
