SUMMARY Firefly Aerospace is pushing the boundaries of space access with rapid launches and lunar missions. We're looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer who loves getting deep into circuit design including schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, simulations, and rapid prototyping. Cedar Park, TX What You'll Do:
Own end-to-end circuit card development: schematic capture and layout for complex digital/analog/power designs, EEE component selection, electrical simulations, and rapid prototyping for flight, qualification. Develop new features and functionality as part of the design team for our common avionics platform used across launch vehicles and spacecraft applications. Perform technical trade studies, requirement capture, conceptual and detail design activities for new and existing designs. Work with experts across teams and departments (systems, mechanical, software, test engineering) to develop tightly integrated, high-performance hardware. Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis using standard test equipment, driving issues to closure in a fast-paced setting. Understand and implement aerospace guidelines for development and design of electronic assemblies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Bachelor of Science (BS) in electrical engineering or equivalent 3+ years of hands -on PCB design, hardware development, and integration experience. Strong skills in schematic capture and layout for digital, analog, and power circuits; proficiency with Altium (or similar) preferred. Competent at end-to-end definition, requirement generation, block-diagram design, component selection and circuit simulations. Experience with component selection, circuit simulation/analysis, and electrical troubleshooting/root-cause. Experienced using test equipment to verify component and circuit functionality.
