Amazon is expanding Amazon Web Services (AWS) connectivity and is looking for help. AWS seeks a Senior FPGA Development Engineer with experience developing programmable logic on the most advanced FPGAs. They will help architect, develop, and integrate scalable FPGA systems in the AWS technology ecosystem. If Arlington HQ (HQ2): This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. Basic Qualifications
- Develop custom RTL and integrate with third party libraries to build end to end 100G+ solutions.
- Collaborate with design and system engineers to perform tradeoffs and architect new solutions for customers.
- Lead in design meetings to plan development and review peer designs.
- Design and implement high-performance packet processing architectures in RTL
- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation including architecture specifications, test plans, and technical reports
- Develop automated test benches and verification environments using SystemVerilog/UVM
- Optimize designs for timing, area, and power consumption while meeting performance requirements
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex FPGA development projects
- Interface with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of FPGA designs
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Troubleshoot and debug complex hardware/software integration issues in lab environments A day in the life You will work on a cross-functional team of hardware and software developers, writing programmable logic to interact with custom hardware and embedded software.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience in RTL coding and debug, as well as performance, power, area analysis and trade-offs
- Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts
- 7+ years developing programmable logic in VHDL, System Verilog or Verilog for FPGA SOCsPreferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- US government security clearance of secret or above
- 7+ years of full RTL development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience with Xilinx Ultrascale+ FPGAs, Versal ACAPs, and/or Intel Agilex SOCs
