DIGITAL DESIGN ENGINEER
(FPGA)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Our client, a leading federal defense contractor, is seeking a Digital Design Engineer to join the engineering team developing advanced military-grade electronics systems. The role involves digital electronics design, FPGA development, circuit design, and cross-disciplinary collaboration across systems and software engineering teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design digital electronics including FPGA development and circuit design Own definition, design, verification, and documentation Determine architecture, system simulation, and detailed design approach Define module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation Evaluate process flow including high-level design, synthesis, place and route, timing, and power utilization Create test and simulation plans establishing functional criteria Verify test results and analyze performance; perform verification and validation on target hardware Provide leadership on inter-disciplinary design efforts
MANDATORY SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 3+ years) Willingness to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance Knowledge and experience with all phases of circuit card design Ability to explain complex designs using non-technical terms Ability to reverse engineer existing designs and update functionality for new requirements Experience collaborating with Systems and Software Engineering teams Understanding of System-On-Chip (SoC) design with embedded processor on FPGA Strong initiative, independent judgment, and ability to handle complex assignments with minimal direction
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
Application programming experience on embedded processors Ability to identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
