We develop and manage Apple's global real estate portfolio, lead all related capital construction projects, provide outstanding facilities and site services, develop and lead sustainability initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of all Apple facilities, including commute and renewable energy programs, and do everything we can to ensure the health and safety of all Apple personnel, facilities, and customers in our facilities around the world. The Apple Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team dedicated to protecting the environment, health, and safety of our employees, contractors, customers, and the global communities where we operate. As a team member, you will be instrumental in program implementation, incident review and follow-up, and continuous improvement focused on supporting Corporate operations (research and development, services, projects, maintenance etc.) at our corporate HQ and surrounding buildings. We are seeking a skilled and collaborative EHS Operations professional to join our team as an EHS Engineer. The successful candidate will be focused on ensuring business groups receive an extraordinary level of service. They must be passionate about solving problems, possess excellent organizational skills, and communicate effectively across technical disciplines. Additionally, they must have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results on time, taking ownership of issues and tasks with an appropriate sense of urgency, and making hard calls when needed. Description The EHS Engineer will provide EHS support to various Corporate team operations and manage regulatory compliance obligations in Apple owned/operated facilities locally. They will facilitate safety risk assessments, implement and maintain EHS programs, perform building and lab inspections, conduct accident/incident investigations, provide emergency response, and provide operational EHS support of facility/lab construction projects. The role will report to the EHS Operations Manager. ","responsibilities":"Manage compliance in a portfolio of buildings including facility and lab inspections, regulatory inspections, and reporting (e.g. CERS) Implement and maintain EHS safety programs (supporting implementation of global standards, acting as a local resource for EHS peers) Complete risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions, and inspections in the EHS management system Participate in EHS on-call rotation Preferred Qualifications Masters or advanced degrees in EHS based degree or equivalent In-depth knowledge of Title 8 California Code of Regulations, California Fire and Building Codes, CalEPA (DTSC) rules/regulations, California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD) rules/regulation, National Fire Protection Association and Workplace Consensus Standards (ANSI/ISO). Experience with physical safety, equipment and battery safety, fire safety and emergency response. Nationally recognized professional credentials (i.e., Board Certified Safety Professional (ASP, CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Experience conducting new equipment/new process EHS design review. Experience working and communicating with all levels of an organization. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and reporting skills. Minimum Qualifications 10+ or more years of EHS operations experience Research and development R D lab or Industrial facility (Semiconductor, or similar) operations experience. BA/BS in an EHS based degree or equivalent experience Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $178,800 and $268,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
