Join the ARC Robotics Technology Development team and help enable safe, effective operation of the Pontiac Logistics Optimization Center. As an Engineer supporting the ARC organization, you will directly own day-to-day safety operations for the LOC. This role focuses on hands-on safety execution, site readiness, compliance activities, and maintaining a safe working environment for advanced robotics and automation development. Justification Critical skills needed to support safe and effective operation of the Logistics Optimization Center in support of ARC technology development activities. Job Description Work Arrangement Primarily onsite. This role requires regular onsite support at the Logistics Optimization Center. The Role The ARC organization relies on the Logistics Optimization Center to support development, integration, and validation of advanced automation systems. This site must operate safely, reliably, and in alignment with facility and engineering needs. As an Engineer focused on Safety Operations, you will personally own day-to-day safety execution and site readiness for the LOC. You will perform safety inspections, maintain safety processes and documentation, identify and address site risks, and support safe setup and operation of work areas used for robotics and automation activities. You will work closely with engineering teams, facilities, contractors, and site users to maintain a safe and functional development environment. What You Will Do
  • Own day-to-day safety operations and site readiness at the LOC
  • Perform safety inspections, identify hazards, and drive corrective actions
  • Maintain safety procedures, records, training needs, and related documentation
  • Support safe setup, modification, and use of work areas for robotics and automation development
  • Track and escalate facility, maintenance, and operational issues affecting safe site operation
  • Partner with engineering teams, facilities, and contractors to ensure work is completed safely
  • Support incident reporting, follow up actions, and continuous improvement of site safety practices
  • Help maintain site organization, housekeeping, and operational readiness for builds, testing, and demonstrations Additional Job Description Your Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Safety, Operations, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience supporting safety operations in industrial, technical, lab, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong ability to work independently and take ownership of daily site safety needs
  • Practical judgment in identifying risk and driving timely corrective action
  • Strong organizational and follow through skills
  • Ability to work effectively with engineering, facilities, and contractor teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills What Will Give You a Competitive Advantage
  • Experience supporting offsite labs, pilot facilities, or technical development spaces
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or automation safety practices
  • Experience with safety inspections, corrective action tracking, and incident follow up
