Job Description

Fire Sprinkler Designer | High-Impact Projects | Growth OpportunityWhy This Role Stands OutIf you're a Fire Sprinkler Designer who wants to work on complex, high-visibility projects-not just churn out drawings-this is your opportunity to step into a role where your designs directly shape safety, performance, and execution on major builds.

What You'll DoYou'll take ownership of fire protection design from concept through construction:

Design & EngineeringCreate complete sprinkler system designs (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, foam)Perform hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and pump analysisAnalyze water supply, hydrant flow tests, and system performanceDrawings & ModelingProduce shop drawings, construction documents, and as-builtsBuild and coordinate models in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)Run clash detection and resolve coordination issues with MEP/structural teamsCode Compliance & CoordinationEnsure designs meet NFPA (13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20), IBC/IFC, and AHJ requirementsPrepare submittals and respond to AHJ commentsCoordinate with fire alarm, life safety systems, and FM/UL standardsTechnical ExecutionSelect and specify:

Sprinkler heads and system componentsValves (OS&Y), backflow preventersPiping systems (CPVC, steel, grooved)Design seismic bracing and supports (ASCE 7)Support RFIs, field coordination, and commissioning/testingWhat You Bring3+ years of fire sprinkler design experience (commercial/industrial preferred)Strong experience with:

Hydraulic calculations and system sizingFire protection software (AutoSPRINK, HydraCALC, SprinkCAD, etc.)Proficiency in:

AutoCADRevit (BIM)Working knowledge of:

NFPA codes (13, 13R, 13D, 14, 20)IBC / IFCPiping systems and installation practicesAbility to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teamsNice to Have (Not Required)NICET (Water-Based Systems Layout)Experience with FM Global standardsPE license or path toward licensureWhy Apply?
