The successful candidate will have experience or interest in occupational safety, hazardous materials management, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, and safety program implementation. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced EHS professionals, including Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIHs), Certified Safety Professionals (CSPs), and Safety Management Specialists (SMSs), while developing technical consulting skills across a wide variety of industries. Job Duties Conduct occupational health, safety, and environmental training on topics including Hazard Communication, Cal/OSHA compliance, RCRA/Title 22 hazardous waste management, forklift safety, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and other regulatory subjects. Develop, update, and maintain Cal/OSHA-compliant health and safety programs for clients. Perform informal audits/assessments of client's sites to assess compliance and effectiveness of health, safety, and environmental programs and management systems. Act as a liaison between regulatory agencies and clients. Update company training materials and electronic reminder database. Maintain environmental permits. Update and maintain client chemical inventories. Generate and maintain written health & safety programs. Perform consultation in industrial safety including lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and forklift safety. Assist with industrial hygiene evaluations, including exposure assessments, air sampling, noise monitoring, indoor air quality investigations, and other workplace exposure assessments. Available for some overnight travel. Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management, environmental compliance, or related EHS consulting. Demonstrated commitment to occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance with a willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally Familiarity with traditional safety issues such as lockout/tagout, confined spaces, and materials handling operations. Knowledge of hazardous materials handling/safety. Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Title 8 regulations, OSHA standards, EPA regulations, DOT regulations, and applicable Fire and Building Codes. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Excellent public speaking/instruction skills. Self-starter, organized, and have excellent project management skills. Customer/client focused. Desire to pursue safety certification (i.e.: CHMM, OHST, ASP, etc.). Entrepreneur spirit/desire to pursue additional consulting work. Experience maintaining corporate management standards.
