Job Description
We are seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. As a member of our team, you will work in a schedule-driven, collaborative environment, working closely with our clients and reporting to the Team Lead. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams of engineers and designers to develop fire protection and life safety design packages for industrial projects. Fire protection will be the primary responsibility for this role; however, you may also be cross-trained to support mechanical engineering scopes as project needs and workload allow. As a Fire Protection Engineer at Eichleay, you will apply your knowledge of fire protection systems, fire and building codes, industrial facility requirements, and mechanical engineering fundamentals to support practical, code-compliant design solutions. This role requires the ability to work independently on defined fire protection scope while coordinating closely with multi-discipline project teams.
Compensation:
$115 - $150,000- anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity.
Work Arrangement:
This position is fully remote. Preference will be given to candidates located within 50 miles of an Eichleay office (Larkspur, CA; Orange, CA; Billings, MT; or Ferndale, WA) to support occasional in-person collaboration.Company Overview:

- Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety, and environmental requirements while supporting safe project execution.
- Develop fire protection and life safety design deliverables for industrial facilities, including studies, calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction packages.
- Evaluate fire hazards and develop practical fire protection design solutions that meet applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and project objectives.
- Design and review fire suppression systems, perform hydraulic calculations, and evaluate water supply requirements for fire protection systems.
- Develop and review fire alarm, detection, notification, and related life safety system requirements in coordination with I&E and other disciplines.
- Perform code reviews and support compliance with applicable NFPA standards, IBC, IFC, local AHJ requirements, and client standards.
- Prepare technical specifications, support procurement packages, perform bid evaluations, and review vendor documentation for conformance with project requirements.
