Job Description

The Environment, Health & Safety Supervisor serves as a consultant to management on environmental, health, and safety related issues while assessing and anticipating customer needs. Works with specialist functions to develop and implement integrated solutions. Administers EH&S programs through the development and application of policies and procedures. Drives Corporate EH&S initiatives, policies and programs throughout the assigned facility or facilities. Maintains required regulatory documentation (OSHA 300, etc.) Position Responsibilities may include; Sets strategy and goals/objectives for the EH&S programs at the facility supported Provides corporate EH&S and regulatory policy guidance and interpretation Provides in-depth support to EH&S team members and customers Applies fundamental emergency medical team concepts, practices and procedures Assists in the development and implementation of EH&S policies and procedures, and their dissemination Provides direction and guidance to team members Prepares reports, communicates metrics, and maintains records Provides consulting to managers Analyzes trends / metrics to develop solutions/programs/policies Completes location compliance auditing Supports corporate compliance auditing activities in all facilities Develops and provides functional training Completes incident investigation and required documentation retention Ensures appropriate regulatory recordkeeping Monitors safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, fire code and NEC programs Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
Nature & Scope:
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and processes to meet outlined goals Assists in the development and implementation of EH&S policies and procedures (and their dissemination) May assist more senior team members Works on problems of moderate scope and under minimal supervision Drives EH&S policy and program development Works on problems complex in nature under minimal to no supervision Exercises discretion and independent judgment Interprets and applies EH&S policies and governmental regulations
Knowledge & Skills:
Knows and applies fundamental EH&S concepts, practices and procedures Has in-depth health, safety and environmental compliance knowledge Strong written and verbal communication skills (including public speaking) Holds comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and environmental programs and standards Understands regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.) Customer driven and self-motivated Strong project management and interpersonal skills Leadership and providing direction to employees
Experience:
5 + years of demonstrated experience in EH&S, preferably in a high volume manufacturing environment Fully competent professional 1 plus years' experience with supervising personnel
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience OSHA 10 - hour General Industry Approved Trainer designation required Additional Safety certifications preferred
