Job Description:
The Production Engineer responsibilities include providing hands-on engineering support within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on plastic injection molding processes. This role spends more than 50% of the time on the production floor driving continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting production and process issues, optimizing manufacturing performance, and supporting operational excellence. The Production Engineer partners closely with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to improve output, quality, safety, yield, and equipment reliability while reducing downtime and manufacturing costs. This position also supports process validation, engineering changes, project management activities, and the development of process documentation and standard operating procedures in an ISO/IATF-driven manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and PDCA methodology.
  • Troubleshoot production and process issues to improve efficiency, quality, and equipment performance.
  • Drive improvements in production output, yield, scrap reduction, safety, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Conduct plant trials, process validations, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Support engineering changes including facility layouts, equipment, utilities, and piping modifications.
  • Manage assigned projects, including timelines, budgets, and implementation activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience considered.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in plastic injection molding or plastics manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and root cause problem-solving methodologies.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems, basic design software, and Excel-based data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
; familiarity with
IATF 16949
is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment with frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
