Job Description

Position Overview International is looking for a Supply Chain Industrial Engineer to drive efficiency and continuous improvement at our Huntsville Powertrain Plant. In this role, you will optimize material flow, develop standard work instructions, implement Lean strategies, monitor performance metrics, and lead cost-saving initiatives. You'll help design layouts, ensure best line feeding methods, and support warehouse operations, all while applying Industrial Engineering expertise to improve processes and deliver measurable impact. Responsibilities Lead the deployment of Lean Material Flow strategies throughout the plant and supporting warehouse, driving efficiency and streamlined operations. Design, implement, and maintain time studies for plant-specific materials team members to optimize productivity. Develop and update standard work instructions to ensure consistent, high-quality performance from materials team members. Provide insightful Industrial Engineering analyses to support cost improvement initiatives and operational enhancements. Take ownership of layouts for supply chain-managed areas, ensuring optimal workflow, space utilization, and the best line feeding methods. Facilitate and track Lean Assessments and Value Stream Mapping sessions to identify opportunities for improvement. Define local Continuous Improvement Requests, gap closure plans, and project plans, translating Supply Chain Engineer findings into actionable projects. Develop and maintain 5S programs and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking for warehouse operations, fostering a culture of organization and accountability. Monitor plant and warehouse Supply Chain performance metrics, implementing corrective actions when results fall below target thresholds. Identify, participate in, and implement cost savings and waste elimination initiatives from an Industrial Engineering perspective. Ensure the upkeep and validation of ideal warehouse and replenishment standards at the warehouse headquarters level. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience OR Master's degree and at least 1 year of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience OR At least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management strongly preferred. Experience establishing and maintaining time studies, ideally using the MOST motion time system. Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with manufacturing environments. Experience working in or alongside union environments. Strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes. Lean and/or Six Sigma training, with Green Belt certification preferred. Demonstrated success in project design, execution, and sustainment. Experience leading Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen sessions. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management, Yard Management, and Transportation Management systems.
