Industrial Engineer Job Description The Industrial Engineer is a pivotal figure in driving manufacturing efficiency and innovation. As a problem-solver, change agent, resource, designer, and project manager, you will be responsible for implementing manufacturing initiatives such as Process Flows, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S methodologies. Your goal is to streamline processes and enhance efficiencies within the plant. Responsibilities Develop and implement manufacturing initiatives including Process Flows, Value Stream Mapping, and 5S methodologies. Perform evaluations of large data sets to identify areas for process improvement. Drive continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute projects. Manage and oversee tooling and design within the manufacturing environment. Utilize Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance process efficiencies. Conduct time studies and line balancing to optimize production flow. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering. 4+ years of experience in manufacturing. Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience with process engineering and manufacturing processes. Skilled in evaluation of large data sets, process flow, and time studies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Autocad and project management. Knowledge of tooling design and engineering. Strong ability to drive process improvement and value stream mapping. Work Environment The role is situated in a large manufacturing facility of nearly 500,000 square feet, primarily involved in sheet metal fabrication for shelving units. The environment can be noisy due to fabrication processes and older equipment. Engineers will spend most of their time on the manufacturing floor, working closely with production support. Office spaces are located above the manufacturing floor for easy access. The work environment is flexible with a casual dress code and a laid-back atmosphere. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Scottsboro, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $64.00/hr.
