Job Title:
Sustaining Engineering Supervisor Job Description The Sustaining Engineering Supervisor oversees day-to-day operations within the Sustaining Engineering team, ensuring efficient workflow, timely troubleshooting support, and strict adherence to production and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations by resolving technical issues, coordinating resources, and aligning team performance with production goals in a regulated manufacturing environment. The position combines hands-on electromechanical troubleshooting with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic production setting. Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the Sustaining Engineering team to ensure efficient workflow and timely support for manufacturing. Provide hands-on support for electromechanical troubleshooting activities on production equipment and systems. Support manufacturing operations by resolving technical issues that impact production output, quality, or safety. Guide and direct technical staff, offering coaching and oversight to maintain high team performance and productivity. Manage shift operations and allocate resources to meet production goals and respond to changing priorities. Support the escalation and resolution of equipment and process issues, coordinating with relevant stakeholders as needed. Ensure adherence to production and quality standards in a regulated manufacturing environment. Create, maintain, and review accurate documentation, including records related to troubleshooting, equipment, and processes. Adapt to rapid priority changes and manage multiple conflicting tasks while maintaining focus on production requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and stable manufacturing operations. Travel between sites as needed to support sustaining engineering activities and team coordination. Essential Skills Proven prior leadership or oversight experience in a similar manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to support hands-on diagnostic and repair activities. Ability to manage shift operations and effectively support team performance in a fast-paced production setting. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and adapt quickly to rapid priority changes. Strong documentation skills, including the ability to create and maintain accurate records in a regulated manufacturing environment. Comfort with hands-on work in a production setting and direct support of electromechanical troubleshooting activities. Strong organizational and time-management abilities to coordinate daily activities and meet production goals. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment. Experience supporting dynamic, high-volume production operations. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and production teams. Willingness and ability to travel between sites as business needs require. Work Environment This role operates in a regulated manufacturing environment that is fast-paced and highly dynamic, with frequent changes in priorities driven by production needs. The position involves regular hands-on work with electromechanical equipment on the production floor, including troubleshooting and supporting equipment and process issues. Work hours may involve shift-based operations to support ongoing production activities and ensure continuous coverage. The role requires maintaining accurate documentation and records in compliance with regulatory and quality standards, and may involve periodic travel between sites to support team operations and manufacturing needs. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.20 - $43.20/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
