Job Description

Junior Operations Engineer Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Engineer to support manufacturing operations through process improvement, documentation control, production tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with Operations, Production, Design Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Manufacturing teams to improve productivity, reduce rework, enhance communication, and support on-time delivery. The Junior Operations Engineer will help develop data-driven solutions, establish standardized processes, and support operational excellence initiatives across the facility. Key Responsibilities Process Improvement & Operational Excellence Support continuous improvement projects focused on reducing waste, minimizing rework, and improving overall manufacturing efficiency. Assist with time studies and data collection to identify process bottlenecks and improvement opportunities. Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to optimize workflows and improve productivity. Participate in special projects aimed at increasing operational efficiency and reducing operator errors. Support the development and implementation of process improvements that enhance on-time delivery performance. Documentation & Administrative Support Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, work instructions, forms, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Help reduce administrative burden on production leads by managing documentation and departmental paperwork. Support Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and Engineering Change Request (ECR) processes to ensure documentation accuracy. Assist with maintaining documentation required for MRP system updates and New Product Introduction (NPI) implementation. Ensure document control processes are followed and manufacturing records remain accurate and current. Production Tracking & Data Analysis Monitor and track production progress throughout Winding, Dry Assembly, and Final Assembly operations. Develop and maintain production metrics, department tier boards, and performance reports. Verify production data accuracy and ensure dashboard information aligns with actual shop floor performance. Support hour-by-hour production tracking and reporting activities. Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Manufacturing & Shop Floor Support Assist in the development of communication processes between production personnel, supervisors, and engineering teams. Support manufacturing teams by providing operational and documentation assistance to prevent rework and quality issues along with any red marking for documentation control records. Assist in operator training initiatives and development of standardized work practices. Participate in Gemba Walks, SQCD (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery) board reviews, and other continuous improvement activities. Support 6S audits and checklist reviews while maintaining accurate scorecard documentation. Engineering & New Product Support Coordinate communication between Production and Design Engineering teams regarding process improvements and product development changes. Assist Design Engineering with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities for new product launches. Participate in prototype builds, fixture/jig development, and process validation efforts to improve operator productivity. Support capital expenditure (CapEx) projects by gathering and analyzing data used to justify equipment and process investments. Workforce Development Assist in supporting and developing training programs for production employees. Help identify emerging operational needs and support the development of new departmental roles and responsibilities. Train operators on updated processes, documentation, and special project requirements as needed. Additional Duties Maintain a safe and organized work environment. Support cross-functional teams as needed to achieve company objectives. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 0-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, operations, engineering, or continuous improvement environment. Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations. Experience using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies. Experience working with ERP/MRP systems. Familiarity with KPI dashboards and production reporting. Understanding of documentation control processes and engineering change management. Experience supporting production, quality, or engineering teams.
Pay:
