Experience managing contract manufacturers/original device manufacturers (CMs/ODMs), conducting on-site factory audits, design/process review, and implementing quality control plans and DFMEAs. Experience driving 8D root cause analysis and corrective actions with component vendors. Ability to travel to international supplier sites when needed.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, physics, material science or related field. 8 years of experience in global component supplier quality management within semiconductor design/fabrication/packaging and precision opto-mechanical technologies. Expertise in data analysis with tools like JMP, Minitab etc. and quality processes like SPC, MSA/GR&R, process capability analysis, DOE, and structured problem-solving (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt). Technical knowledge of optical/electrical components fabrication, packaging, application, or precision opto-mechanical assembly and metrology. Proven ability to proactively manage complex component supplier relationships, drive supplier accountability, and enforce contractual quality specifications. About the job As a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer for Components, you will own the quality, reliability, and qualification of critical custom and off-the-shelf (OTS) electro-optic components powering our next-generation module technology and wearable devices—including optical lenses, integrated circuit (ICs), waveguides, sensors, micro-optics, electronic ICs and more. You will collaborate closely with component design teams, Global Supply Chain, and component suppliers to drive comprehensive supplier quality management, rigorous quality control (QC) strategies, component qualification, and supplier technical capability.

Responsibilities Lead supplier quality assessment, audit, evaluation, selection, and qualification for critical opto-mechanical and electronic components (e.g., optical lenses, waveguides, sensors, ICs). Define, establish, and enforce rigorous incoming/outgoing quality control (IQC/OQC) requirements, product specification, measurement system analysis (MSA/GR&R), and certificate of conformance (COC) standards with suppliers. Drive supplier non-conformance management, material containment, and 8D root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) for component-level manufacturing and reliability failures. Review and approve supplier product change notifications (PCNs), engineering change notices (ECNs), and non-conformance reports (NCRs), assessing cross-functional quality risks. Partner with cross functional teams like design, manufacturing and reliability engineering to conduct component-level design failure mode and effects analysis/process failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA) reviews, supplier process capability evaluations (Cp/Cpk), and component reliability test reviews.
