Travel:
Up to 25 percent Third Party International is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing clients with supplier quality assurance, issue resolution, and ongoing supplier surveillance. This role is ideal for a hands on quality engineer with experience in high precision machined parts or printed circuit board manufacturing who can work directly with suppliers to prevent escapes, strengthen process control, and improve overall supplier performance. About the Role You will serve as the quality interface between the client and key suppliers. You will drive containment and corrective actions, review and approve supplier quality documentation, support qualification of new suppliers from a quality standpoint, and perform supplier audits and on site process monitoring. The work includes supplier visits, data driven analysis, and coordination with internal engineering, quality, and supply chain teams. Key Responsibilities Lead supplier quality activities to reduce defects, prevent escapes, and improve process capability Drive corrective actions using structured methods such as 8D, 5 Why, and root cause analysis and verify effectiveness Perform supplier audits, source surveillance, and process reviews to ensure compliance with requirements Support new supplier qualification from a quality perspective including readiness reviews and first article approval Review and approve supplier documentation such as inspection plans, control plans, test plans, certificates, and first article packages Interpret drawings and specifications and ensure quality requirements are correctly flowed down and understood Partner with internal teams across supply chain and engineering to resolve supplier related quality and delivery risks Monitor supplier quality metrics and lead recurring performance reviews and escalation when needed Support MRB activities and disposition planning related to supplier nonconformances as required Required Qualifications Five or more years of supplier quality, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related experience Direct experience with either high precision machined parts or printed circuit board manufacturing Strong understanding of inspection methods, measurement systems, and process controls Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and apply GD and T where applicable Experience with first article packages, inspection planning, and supplier documentation control Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with suppliers on site Ability to travel up to 25 percent Preferred Qualifications Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments and familiarity with AS9100 expectations Experience with special processes, critical characteristics, traceability, and counterfeit parts prevention Lead auditor training, CQE, or Six Sigma certification Experience supporting supplier transfers, resourcing, or supplier recovery plans About Third Party International Third Party International thirdparty.biz provides engineering, quality, and supply chain professionals to aerospace and defense manufacturers across the United States.
