Industrial Engineer Job Description The Industrial Engineer applies engineering techniques to design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes. These processes include human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Responsibilities Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Consider workflow, layout, and safety measures when designing industrial plants and facilities. Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer. Ensure design meets organizational and production goals. Study functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication. Establish work measurement programs and analyze work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules, to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. Confer with management and engineering staff to implement plans and recommendations. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Oxnard, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $33.66/hr.
