Job Description

Job Description Senior Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer focused on strategic planning, capacity forecasting, shop floor simulations, and production execution for complex manufacturing programs. This role drives labor, equipment, and resource planning, provides cost and schedule analysis, supports new program launches, and serves as a technical leader and mentor while presenting recommendations to executive stakeholders. Day to Day
  • Leads strategic planning efforts to ensure labor, equipment, tooling, and facility resources are aligned to meet program delivery schedules, production rates, and cost objectives.
  • Performs manufacturing simulations, staffing analyses, capacity planning, and forecasting to evaluate "what-if" scenarios and support long-term program execution decisions.
  • Analyzes production workflows, machine utilization, and operational processes to improve efficiency, optimize throughput, reduce costs, and enhance inventory management.
  • Develops metrics, dashboards, and executive-level reporting using tools such as Excel, Tableau, MS Project, and PowerPoint to track schedule, cost, and performance across manufacturing programs.
  • Provides technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding process improvements, supporting new contract/program launches, and helping organizations scale production in complex manufacturing environments such as shipbuilding, maritime, or other large-scale operations.

  • Strategic planning experience supporting manufacturing, production, or engineering organizations, including long-range planning, resource allocation, and execution of new programs.
  • 14+ years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience with a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (or equivalent Master's/PhD experience combination).
  • Strong continuous improvement background with experience optimizing workflows, capacity, machine utilization, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Proven ability to communicate and influence across all levels of the organization, including executives, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint, with experience developing forecasts, schedules, metrics, analyses, and executive-level presentations.
  • Experience with manufacturing simulations, staffing analysis, and forecasting.
  • Tableau or advanced analytics/reporting experience.
  • Machine utilization and capacity optimization expertise.
  • PMP certification.
Experience supporting shipbuilding, maritime, aerospace, defense, or other complex manufacturing environments.
