Industrial Engineer
- Time and Motion Analyst Doral, FL 33122 $24 an hour
- Full-time $24 an hour
- Full-time Job Overview Measure, analyze, and optimize the timing and movements of operational processes (pallet breaking, RFID scanning, racking, quality inspection, condensation, picking/fulfillment, and dispatch) to increase productivity, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with critical operational timelines, while maintaining quality and cold chain integrity.
The role is based on the systematic study of activities to identify inefficiencies, eliminate unnecessary movements, and improve processes. Key Responsibilities 1. Operational Process Analysis Conduct time studies across: Pallet breaking RFID scanning Racking Quality inspection Condensation Picking / fulfillment Dispatch Document current processes (diagrams, flowcharts, and plant layout). The analyst observes and records times and movements to detect inefficiencies and bottlenecks. 2. Productivity Measurement Define time standards per activity.
Establish KPIs:
Productivity per operator (FBE/hour) Time per activity Efficiency vs. standard (%) Analyze variations by activity. 3.
Operations Optimization Identify:
Unnecessary movements Idle time Rework Redesign processes to: Reduce cycle times Improve flow per activity Optimize plant layout The goal is to increase efficiency and reduce costs through process improvement. 4. Planning and Activity Balancing Balance activities across the operation. Define the optimal number of operators required per activity. Adjust workload according to demand (everyday operations and peak seasons such as Valentine's Day and Mother's Day). 5. Implementation and Follow-Up Implement operational improvements per activity. Monitor results against KPIs. Validate the impact of changes on productivity and costs. The role includes tracking results and evaluating implemented improvements. 6. Data Management and Reporting Prepare daily/weekly reports on: Productivity Deviations Efficiency by employee and supervisor Support operational decisions with logistical data analysis. 7.
Operational Training Train teams on:
New work methods Best practices Process standardization Support a continuous improvement culture (Lean / productivity).
Required Profile Education:
Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or related fields
Experience:
2-5 years in: Logistics Operations Agribusiness / flowers / perishable food Packaging or production processes
Technical Knowledge:
Time and motion studies Advanced Excel / data analysis Lean Manufacturing / continuous improvement Operational KPI management Export processes (flower industry preferred) Artificial Intelligence Core Competencies Strong analytical skills Attention to detail Results-oriented mindset Structured thinking Ability to work in the field (live operations) Influence without authority (working with supervisors and operators) Flower Industry Specifics (Very Important) This role must account for: Highly time-sensitive operations (perishable products) Direct impact on cold chain integrity Extreme demand peaks (Valentine's Day and Mother's Day) Labor-intensive manual processes Variability by activity type Success Indicators ↑ Productivity per operator ↓ Cycle time per FBE ↓ Cost per FBE ↑ On-time dispatch compliance ↓ Rework and error corrections Working Conditions Ability to work in temperatures near 35°F (cold storage environment) High ability to work under pressure
