JOB TITLE
Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Bilingual Preferred)
JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Sr. SQE) is responsible for ensuring the quality and stability of incoming materials through supplier audits, quality control, and guidance. This role continuously drives supplier quality improvements and cost reduction initiatives to align with the organization's strategic goals.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Supplier Audit and Evaluation (10%): Complete the annual supplier quality audit. Qualify new suppliers by reviewing documentation and conducting on-site audits to ensure adherence to product and project specifications. Analyze, measure, and update supplier KPIs. Promote Improvement of Supplier Material Quality (20%): Analyze and track supplier quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement. Develop and implement improvement projects for critical suppliers. Promote resolution and closure of major supplier material quality issues. Quality Loss Transfer (50%) Lead and manage supplier quality loss transfer activities, including material losses, scrap, sorting/rework costs, production losses, and other supplier-related quality costs. Identify, quantify, and determine supplier responsibility for quality losses, and lead claim negotiation and recovery with suppliers. Establish and maintain a supplier quality loss transfer tracking log, including loss amount, supplier responsibility, claim status, recovered amount, outstanding amount, and closure status. Track and follow up on open claims, ensuring timely closure and escalation of significant or disputed cases. Analyze recurring quality losses and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce supplier-related quality costs. Material Standard SIP, Material Inspection SOP, and Quality Contract Review (10%): Lead supplier documentation management, including material and general conformity certificates. Drive material standardization management, including reviewing material SIPs and inspection SOPs. Review and ensure the integrity of Quality Contracts and Technical Quality Agreements. Supplier Changes Review (10%): Evaluate and approve changes in raw materials, processes, production locations, and other supplier modifications. Assess new supplier or material introductions and evaluate results for bulk material improvements.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATION
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field. Masters is a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong knowledge of quality management systems. Proficient in quality tools such as 8D and QC methodologies.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of experience as an SQE senior engineer. At least 5 years of experience in industries such as semiconductor, photovoltaic, or automotive.
Abilities and Qualities:
Bilingual Preferred (Mandarin, English) Strong communication and coordination skills. Independent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities. Excellent teamwork capabilities. Proficiency in statistical data analysis.
PLACE OF JOB IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will report to the Supplier Quality Management Department and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and quality management systems, to achieve supplier quality objectives.
