ASAP Ascendo is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer II to support a large, complex manufacturing operation in St. Petersburg, Florida. This is a hands-on industrial engineering role focused on improving manufacturing performance through work measurement, process optimization, production layouts, standardized work, operational data, and continuous improvement. The Industrial Engineer II will work directly within the production environment to identify and eliminate waste, establish reliable manufacturing standards, improve productivity and cost performance, and support consistent engineering processes across the site. What You Will Do Execute industrial engineering projects focused on waste elimination, productivity, cost control, and manufacturing effectiveness. Develop and maintain time standards for manufacturing process steps. Apply industrial engineering methods including work measurement, process mapping, standard work, capability analysis, plant layouts, workstation design, and related process-improvement techniques. Analyze manufacturing metrics such as cycle time, capacity, utilization, productivity, efficiency, labor requirements, and cost. Develop and optimize production layouts, workstations, equipment placement, and manufacturing flow. Coordinate production-area layout changes and facility moves. Maintain accurate industrial engineering and manufacturing-process data. Monitor SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations for alignment with standardized manufacturing processes. Support Lean and continuous-improvement initiatives by strengthening process standards and data integrity. Develop or gather manufacturing data used to support quotes and operational decisions. Support process standardization across the manufacturing site. Coach, mentor, and provide technical guidance to other members of the Industrial Engineering team as needed. What You Bring Hands-on industrial engineering experience within a manufacturing or comparable production environment. Practical experience with industrial engineering methods such as work measurement, time studies, process mapping, standard work, line balancing, facility or production layouts, or workstation design. Experience implementing manufacturing process improvements, continuous-improvement initiatives, productivity improvements, or cost-reduction efforts. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing and operational data. Experience using AutoCAD in support of manufacturing layouts, facility layouts, workstations, equipment placement, tooling, or similar applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project . Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams. Preferred Background Experience with SAP and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems in a production environment. Experience working with manufacturing routings, labor standards, work centers, production data, or related manufacturing-system configuration. Experience with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, value-stream mapping, SMED, or other structured continuous-improvement methods. Experience coordinating manufacturing-layout changes, line moves, facility moves, production-cell redesigns, or material-flow improvements. Experience supporting capability studies, capital-equipment planning, or manufacturing quotations. Experience coaching or mentoring engineers or other technical team members. Position Details This is a 1-year contract opportunity through Ascendo supporting an established manufacturing operation in St. Petersburg.
