Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Industrial Engineer shall support the business in areas of production process improvement by analyzing work flow to improve efficiencies.
GENERAL DUTIES
Work to drive out cost through process improvements and documented standard work instructions.
Designs, redesigns or enhances work areas and layouts with respect for ergonomics and waste elimination.
Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods and trends and developments in technology and equipment.
Works in conjunction with our lean team to improve process flow.
Develops and maintains management information, planning and control systems.
Implements methods and modifications to reduce production costs.
Performs time studies to level load the manufacturing process.
Implements PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis) mindset and process for our operators.
Work across the organization to solve problems related to process outputs
Develops, implements and communicates best practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred).
Masters degree in manufacturing related engineering field is a plus.
Minimum 2 years in production environment
Preference given to aerospace and defense electronics experience Read/Write Fluently in English; Spanish speaking a plus
Needs to be an effective communicator, credible and decisive, possess team building skills
Must be well-organized, flexible and able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing environment
Must have analytical skills and demonstrated RCCA implementation experience
Comfortable using MS Office Suite including; Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and MSWord.
Sustained dependable attendance.
Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.
Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Regularly required to walk up and down stairs.
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
Regularly required to talk or hear.
Regular use of hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Vision abilities include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Noise level is usually moderate.
Occasional fumes or airborne particles; toxic, caustic chemicals and vibration.
