Job Description

Design smarter flow. Drive efficiency. Power the heartbeat of manufacturing. Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of material handling and manufacturing processes that maximize safety, efficiency, and operational flow across the facility. Duties and Responsibilities Engineer and optimize end to end material flow—from receiving to assembly to finished goods shipment—to ensure seamless, efficient movement throughout the plant.
Analyze workflow, space utilization, and equipment layout using DMAIC methodology and/or Kubota's 5 Gen Principles to elevate productivity and reduce waste.
Conduct time studies and apply statistical analysis to identify bottlenecks and implement measurable improvements.
Review and enhance sequence picking processes, implementing optimized solutions that improve accuracy and reduce handling time.
Support automation initiatives for storage, retrieval, and material delivery systems, helping modernize and streamline operations.
Assign standard packaging for new model parts based on economic order quantity, minimizing touches and improving material handling efficiency.
Provide critical decision making data by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
Forecast future requirements and support strategic planning with accurate, data backed insights.
Manage new program launches and process changes with transparency and structure.
Oversee timelines, budgets, design details, team coordination, quotations, and vendor procurement activities.
Prepare clear, concise reports that highlight process performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Document new or revised processes and ensure effective communication across teams.
Partner with manufacturing teams to achieve safety, quality, and productivity targets.
Lead and support Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence.
Train technicians and team members to ensure smooth adoption of new or updated processes.
Maintain technical expertise through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional societies.
Support team members during high capacity periods to ensure collective success. Essential Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering.
Proven self starter with the ability to work independently and proactively.
Excellent communication skills—listening, writing, and presenting.
Strong familiarity with DMAIC methodology.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with AutoCAD, MS Access, SQL, or Minitab.
Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt). Working Conditions This role includes both office and manufacturing/warehouse floor exposure. Team members may encounter hot or cold environments, extended hours, and occasional weekend work to support production needs. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools, materials, and equipment.
