Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Engineer specializing in Quality and Shop Floor Operations to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will drive excellence on the production floor by ensuring high-quality standards, optimizing manufacturing processes, and maintaining seamless operations. Your expertise will help foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and efficiency across our manufacturing facility. Responsibilities Oversee daily shop floor activities to ensure production processes adhere to quality standards and safety protocols. Implement and monitor process improvements using lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues or production delays, developing effective corrective actions. Collaborate with design and engineering teams utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, and Schematics to optimize product designs for manufacturability. Program and troubleshoot industrial equipment including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC machines, robotics, and vision inspection systems. Support plastics injection molding processes, fabrication, tooling setups, and assembly line operations to ensure smooth workflow. Lead continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing manufacturing data, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of innovation. Maintain detailed documentation of processes, schematics, process engineering reports, and
ISO 9001
compliance records. Assist in factory layout planning using CAD tools like CAD or CAM programming for process optimization. Ensure all operations meet industry standards for quality assurance and safety regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field; advanced certifications are a plus. Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on shop floor exposure; factory experience is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in assembly lines, robotics, fabrication, tooling, and industrial equipment maintenance. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Creo; experience with Schematics is advantageous. Skilled in PLC programming, CNC programming, CAM programming, and vision inspection systems. Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes and welding techniques. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to perform root cause analysis using tools like GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and Schematics interpretation. Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process engineering and industrial engineering concepts.
