1st (3A-3P) rotating 12hr 2-2-3 shift Job Description The Machine Operation oversees production line operations, leads a team of machine operators, and ensures equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. This role combines hands-on machine operation and maintenance with leadership responsibilities to meet production goals and maintain high quality standards. Responsibilities Lead and supervise a team of machine operators to achieve daily and weekly production goals. Oversee machine operation on the production line, ensuring consistent, efficient, and safe performance. Perform and coordinate preventive maintenance on production equipment to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Carry out routine and corrective equipment maintenance, including basic hydraulic systems and mechanical components. Operate and monitor HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems to control, adjust, and optimize machine performance. Manage changeovers between products or production runs, including machine setup, adjustments, and verification of correct configurations. Conduct quality and visual inspections to ensure products meet established standards and specifications. Monitor machine safety, enforce safety procedures, and promptly address unsafe conditions or behaviors. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment and process issues to minimize production interruptions. Handle disciplinary actions and performance feedback within the team in alignment with company policies. Coordinate with other departments to support production schedules, quality requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate records related to production, maintenance activities, inspections, and changeovers. Essential Skills Proven experience as a machine operator in a production or manufacturing environment. Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing or leading a team in an industrial or production setting. Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving equipment and process issues. Hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance activities. Proficiency in machine operation, including setup, adjustments, and monitoring. Experience managing changeovers between different products or production runs. Ability to work with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems to operate and monitor equipment. Basic understanding of hydraulics and related equipment components. Knowledge of quality inspection methods and standards in a production environment. Solid understanding of machine safety practices and lockout/tagout principles. Ability to meet production goals while maintaining safety and quality requirements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a food manufacturing or similar high-volume production facility. Experience in leading teams through changeovers and process improvements. Strong communication skills for directing team members and coordinating with other departments. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, maintenance activities, and production priorities. Attention to detail when performing inspections, documenting maintenance, and verifying setups. Comfort working with climate-controlled equipment and processes that may require close monitoring. You will work around automated production equipment, HMIs, and machinery that requires strict adherence to safety and cleanliness standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Villa Rica, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
