Production and Maintenance Engineer Designation:
Production and Maintenance Engineer Location:
Production Facility Reporting to: Sr. Shift Supervisor / Production Manager / Director of Operations Job Purpose To oversee end-to-end production processes while ensuring maximum machinery uptime through proactive maintenance. This role is responsible for achieving output targets, maintaining stringent quality standards, and managing shop floor resources efficiently. Key Responsibilities 1.
Production Management & Planning Target Achievement:
Plan, schedule, and execute production runs to meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Process Control:
Adhere strictly to production process parameters and technical specifications to ensure quality and quantity.
Waste Reduction:
Implement strategies to minimize rejection rates and reduction of lumps.
Reporting:
Conduct shift handovers with the Sr. Shift Supervisor and participate in periodic reviews with the Production Manager regarding production status. 2.
Maintenance & Technical Operations Preventive & Routine Maintenance:
Execute scheduled preventive maintenance for critical equipment, including pumps, blowers, forklifts, overhead cranes, heat exchangers, and heaters.
Breakdown Support:
Handle immediate machine maintenance issues and troubleshoot equipment failures (valves, strainers, etc.) to minimize downtime.
Asset Utilization:
Ensure maximum utilization and efficiency of all machinery and utilities.
Validation:
Maintain a list of critical equipment and ensure all machines are qualified and validated according to industry standards. 3.
Quality, Safety & Compliance Quality Assurance:
Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and perform in-line inspections to maintain product integrity.
Shop Floor Excellence:
Maintain high standards of 5S and shop floor management.
Safety Leadership:
Ensure all safety protocols are followed and promote a "zero-accident" environment across the plant. 4.
Coordination & Leadership Resource Management:
Lead and supervise shop floor operators, ensuring their activities align with company values and targets.
Logistics Liaison:
Coordinate with customers and the logistics department to resolve delivery issues and ensure timely shipments.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement "Continual Improvement" projects to streamline maintenance and production workflows.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
Technical Knowledge:
Hands-on experience with industrial utilities (pumps, blowers, valves) and heavy machinery (forklifts, cranes).
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication for inter-departmental coordination.
Experience :
Proven track record in a processing industry with a dual focus on production output and mechanical maintenance.
