In your future role as a Production Engineer, you will Reporting to the Operations Manager the Production Engineer will work as a technical resource for operations to optimize plant operations while enabling safe and efficient production of quality products. The Morris site manufactures Amine Surfactants for use in agricultural, mining, home and personal care, coatings lubes and fuels, and oilfield applications. The fatty amines and derivatives produced at the Morris site are specially formulated for our customers needs to provide value in neutralization, emulsification, wetting and other surface active properties. The Production Engineer is responsible for her/his manufacturing units at the site.
Principal Accountabilities:
Develop process improvements to effectively utilize equipment, material, and resources to maximize unit profitability. Diagnose and document root causes of deviations in the unit and improve operating discipline. Earn respect and trust of operations team through excellent problem-solving skills and technical expertise. Ensure compliance with plant operating permits. Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards. Investigate problems, analyze root causes and drive solutions. Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals. Respond urgently to unit issues and emergencies. Act as a unit technical expert during unplanned events and drive implementation of effective corrective and preventative actions. Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology and production processes. Procedure and document control, from Standard Operating Procedure creation and modification to managing change via MOC processes Participate in Process Hazard Analysis for units assigned The hiring salary range for this position ranges from $76,500 - $109,300, although individuals may eventually progress through the pay scale in this role up to $maximum. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role as well as the individuals' qualifications, experience, skills, and certifications. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees (and their families) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are also eligible to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Employees will also receive paid time off and the mandated company holidays throughout the calendar year. We believe you bring B.S degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. 0-2 years production experience in chemical facility Experience as a co-op or internship is a plus Experience in working in a Union Environment Supervisory Experience managing a team of operators Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a team environment Capable of identifying best practices Must be able to wear steel toed shoes and safety glasses to go into plant environment. Knowledge of plant processes and equipment. Knowledge of products. Site practices. Safety policies and procedures. SAP High - Problem solving skills, analytical ability, leadership. Possess strong sense of ownership and accountable for the results of assigned unit. Medium - Innovative/creativity, decision making, self-improvement, communication. Low - Organization planning, position knowledge.
