Supplier Quality & Logistics Liaison 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars Normal, IL 61761 $59,990.45 - $75,000.00 a year - Full-time HQS Automotive International Inc 7 reviews $59,990.45 - $75,000.00 a year - Full-time As a Liaison, you will serve as the critical bridge between OEM and our customer, component suppliers. Operating fully onsite at our manufacturing facility, you will ensure seamless communication regarding product quality, lead rigorous issue investigations, align production schedules, and optimize logistics. Your ultimate goal is to minimize production downtime and ensure that supplier components meet OEM's quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Liaison :
Act as the primary, face-to-face point of contact for customers at the OEM facility. Translate complex, onsite manufacturing and quality dynamics into clear, actionable updates for external partners.
Quality Issue Investigation :
Partner with OEM internal Quality and Engineering teams to investigate component failures, defects, or non-conformances. Help customers understand root causes by providing detailed onsite data, photos, and context.
Production Plan Alignment :
Actively participate in OEM production planning meetings. Monitor the production schedule to ensure customers are fully aware of shifting demands, engineering changes, and volume adjustments.
Logistics & Material Flow Support :
Coordinate with logistics and warehousing teams to ensure critical components arrive on time. Support the tracking, expediting, and troubleshooting of incoming material shipments to prevent line stoppages.
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Facilitate meetings between OEM quality engineers, manufacturing teams, and supplier representatives to track corrective actions (e.g., 8D reports, 5-Why analysis) to closure.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Experience:
1+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, logistics, or a technical liaison role.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related technical field (preferred).
Problem-Solving :
Strong understanding of quality root-cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone/Ishikawa, 5-Why, FMEA).
Communication :
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain strong professional relationships under high-pressure manufacturing conditions.
Adaptability :
Ability to work 100% onsite and adapt quickly to the fast-paced, evolving environment of an EV manufacturing plant.
Preferred:
Experience specifically within the Electric Vehicle (EV) or Tier-1 automotive supplier network. Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP) and quality management software. Basic understanding of automotive logistics, customs, or expedite processes.
Pay:
$59,990.45 - $75,000.00 per year
