Job Description
Summary The Automation Specialist reports to the Automation Division Manager and is responsible for developing and driving the sales of packaging equipment. Responsibilities•Essential Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the packaging equipment industry with basic knowledge of packaging materials and sources for equipment and consumables Lead the activities for training the sales force in the new technologies and functionalities with regard to packaging equipment and automation systems Generate packaging equipment and material handling solutions by conducting plant surveys, identifying opportunities, and proceeding to specify the proper equipment for the challenge with existing and new customers Build strong relationships with plant engineers, operation leaders, and equipment buyers with existing and new customers Create accurate plant layouts and conceptual drawings for projects that require a higher degree of engineering than an equipment brochure Identify opportunities related to packaging automation and provide solutions that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new customers Responsibilities•Non-Essential Identify opportunities in all areas of packaging and provide solutions that contribute to the sales and profit generated from existing and new customers Maintain an awareness of marketplace opportunities, trends, changes, and threats to the success of IPS Packaging Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Automation Division Manager and/or Chief Product Officer (CPO) Skills and Experience 4-year bachelor's degree preferred 3+ years of Packaging Equipment experience Ability to utilize AutoCAD to generate plant layouts Project management experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good interpersonal and conflict management skills
