$90k - $100k Full time permanent position with benefits Responsibilities Apply statistical analysis methods, including Design of Experiments (DOE), to optimize casting process parameters and improve Net Casting Rate. Utilize PQ² methodology to calculate gate areas, runner dimensions, and cross-sections to enhance part quality, material yield, and overall Net Casting Rate. Collaborate with Tooling Engineers on runner and cooling system design; evaluate simulation and casting trial results to implement corrective actions and optimize process performance. Conduct die-cast tooling trials and validation activities at both internal facilities and external suppliers. Analyze scrap data to identify defects, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Perform cycle time studies to identify bottlenecks and develop process improvements to increase Net Casting Rate. Establish and maintain critical die-casting process parameters, ensuring accessibility at the point of use. Manage process parameter revisions and equipment program controls, including backup and recovery of equipment programs. Document all die-casting process changes and maintain accurate change history records. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for furnaces, die-casting machines, die spray systems, and die-casting automation. Manage equipment suppliers, including project timelines, technical deliverables, and budget requirements. Audit production processes to ensure compliance with established process standards and critical operating parameters. Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in high-pressure die casting within the automotive industry. Proven experience in runner and cooling system design. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of PLCs, robot programming, root cause analysis, statistical problem-solving methods, and Design of Experiments (DOE). Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles; Six Sigma certification or experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Willingness and flexibility to travel within Ontario and internationally as required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, and Minitab.
