Full Job Description Overview:

Position Summary The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) serves as the primary quality liaison between Rapiscan and its supplier base. This role partners closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, and suppliers to ensure purchased materials, components, and services consistently meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations. The SQE owns supplier qualification activities, supplier quality performance, nonconformance investigations, corrective actions, and supplier development initiatives. The position also supports new product introductions, process improvements, supplier audits, and continuous improvement efforts across the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities Lead supplier qualification, approval, and ongoing performance management activities. Conduct supplier audits and manage corrective actions to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Drive supplier development initiatives that improve quality, delivery performance, process capability, and cost efficiency. Own supplier nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) activities. Support production part approval processes, supplier process validation, FAIR activities, and outsourced process qualifications. Establish and maintain supplier quality metrics and performance reporting. Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve technical, configuration management, and change control issues. Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities to ensure supplier readiness and quality requirements are incorporated early in the product lifecycle. Provide technical guidance and quality support to suppliers and internal stakeholders. Present supplier performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership. Travel to supplier locations to conduct audits, qualifications, and resolve quality issues as needed. Uphold the company's core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork. Qualifications:
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of supplier focused quality, quality engineering, procurement engineering, with manufacturing quality experience within a complex manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of quality systems and problem-solving methodologies, including CAPA, 8D, 5-Why Analysis, Pareto Analysis, FMEA, and statistical process improvement tools. Experience with supplier audits, supplier development, and supplier qualification programs. Proficiency interpreting mechanical and electrical engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, plastics, and electro-mechanical assemblies. Working knowledge of
ISO 9001
2015 quality systems. Strong project management, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to travel approximately 20-25%, including occasional international travel. Preferred Experience in electro-mechanical and complex capital equipment manufacturing. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Agile PLM, and configuration management systems. Experience using SolidWorks. Working knowledge of
ISO 14001.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Lead Auditor, or similar ASQ certifications. Qualified ISO 9001 and/or

Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations. Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
