Long Term Contract Job Summary:

We are seeking a Database Engineer to join a collaborative Platform Engineering team at a leading investment management firm. This role combines production SQL Server support, database architecture, automation, and modern data engineering to help build and maintain scalable, reliable data platforms. Required 6+ years of work experience with SQL. 7+ years of work experience with Databases.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and troubleshoot production SQL Server environments, including performance tuning, blocking, deadlocks, availability, and recovery. Optimize SQL queries, execution plans, indexing, and database design. Manage database administration activities, including HA/DR, upgrades, patching, security, and monitoring. Develop automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to streamline database operations. Build and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines, data workflows, and automated deployments. Contribute to cloud and platform engineering initiatives using AWS, CI/CD, Git, and Terraform. Collaborate with engineering teams on architectural improvements, technical solutions, and production support. Nice to
