- 12•Months•position (May go Longer) Location•Flint, Michigan Shift•
Preferred Work Schedule:
Monday- Friday Onsite no remote 1st shift: 6:00am to 3:30pm Occasional
- Holidays and Weekends.
Job Responsibilities:
Employee will be responsible for drafting, managing standardized work. Update layouts, managing the throughput improvement process and collaborating with UAW counterparts with relation to production IE/Ergo matters. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):- Implement common Industrial Engineering business practices and processes.
- Design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements with high integrity.
- Maintain accurate time studies through motion analysis and application of standard time data.
- Maintain accurate workstation layouts using computer aided drafting software (AutoCAD).
- Drive Continuous Improvement efforts in assigned area through elimination of waste.
- Evaluate bottleneck areas and support throughput and productivity improvements in assigned area.
- Support change management projects by developing line balance plans and participating in production trials.
- Reduce total cost by improving productivity metrics related to operator work loading and value-added percent.
- Participate in lean manufacturing through implementation of Global Manufacturing System.
- Support implementation and training for standardized work development.
- Become a coach and teacher of lean manufacturing principles to the production floor team members.
- Drive problem solving efforts.
- Work collaboratively as one team with all levels of the organization.
- Develop relationships with Production department and related personnel. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience working in manufacturing with a background in Continuous Improvement.
- Experience in documentation of Standardized Work procedures.
- Experience in implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of time study and motion analysis.
- Working knowledge of computer aided drafting tools (AutoCAD).
- Ability to adapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods.
- Self-motivated individual with Continuous Improvement focus.
- Ability to work any shift, OT and weekend shifts. What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of human factors engineering / ergonomic analysis.
- Previous experience with project management and time management.
- Previous experience working in a Union Environment or Bargaining Unit.
- Experience working in a plant with machining operations. Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required Years of experience: at least 3-5 years of experience Nice to have: Machining experience
- understanding CNC machines and how the process flows AutoCAD experience
STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment Experience in documentation of standardized work procedures Adapt to different interpersonal styles and communication methods (working with a union)
