Job Description
We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Quality Engineer within our Quality team to help support ourWork Furniture business. Our Work Furniture business brings an intense focus on the customer, innovation,world-class manufacturing capabilities, and a global footprint together to create full package solutions forthe industry. As a Quality Engineer you will have the opportunity to support the organization to meet customerexpectations for products and services. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business bymonitoring the quality performance of the supply base, drive improvement in supplier performance andimprove our internal processes through continuous improvement. The team you will be working with iscollaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.. So, what will you be doing as a Quality Engineer?
Managing the quality performance of the supply base by monitoring & reporting PPM performance ofkey suppliers.
Communicating PPAP requirements to suppliers on engineering changes or new products, managingPPAP promise dates and approving supplier PPAPs.
Monitoring scrap rates, identifying excellent, moderate and problem suppliers, completing supplierassessments if necessary, developing an improvement plan with suppliers to improve performance,monitoring progress.
Assist in the development and approval of incoming inspection plans.
Performing internal audits of products and processes, identifying corrective actions and drivingcompletion of the actions.
Identifying potential VA/VE projects and working with a cross-functional team to completion.
Work to bring internal business processes to an ISO 9000-compliant level and maintain that complaintlevel through participation in internal auditing and internal documentation development. To be successful in this role, you'll need:
Five years minimum as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing settingExperience in managing and driving projects.
Six Sigma green belt or black belt certificationExperience in internal auditing Things we consider a plus:
