Electric Production Engineering Supervisor Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing engineering support to the HBPW Electric Production facilities. Essential Duties Perform business risk evaluations of equipment and systems to determine impact on safety, operating efficiency and economics, reliability, and environmental compliance. Make recommendations for equipment repair or replacement Manage all phases of project work including but not limited to economic justification, scheduling, RFP document preparation, evaluating bids, making recommendations, contract negotiation, field work, and project closeout. Provide technical assistance and guidance to Electric Production operations and maintenance personnel. Utilize and support OSIsoft PI data historian and other performance monitoring software. Act as the subject matter expert for the combined cycle and simple cycle power production facilities including repairs and improvements, working with maintenance & operations staff and contractors. Review and update equipment manuals and drawings (P&IDs, one-lines, three-lines, loop diagrams, etc.) and other phases of the change management process. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering for an ABET accredited program; or equivalent education and experience. Ability to interpret detailed drawing, diagrams and instruction manuals. Ability to use AutoCAD, OSIsoft PI client tools and Microsoft programs. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate in both oral and written forms. Preferred Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Power plant or industrial experience. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Periodic exposure to environmental hazards associated with electrical, mechanical and/or power equipment. Exposure to extreme hot or cold weather. Able to sit/stand for extended periods of time. Mental ability to work on projects requiring concentration and attention to detail with frequent disruptions due to people and/or telephone calls. Additional Considerations This position is covered by the HBPW Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan (PHMSA).
