LEVEL:
P1 / P2 / Lateral Industrial Engineer Nexteer is looking for motivated candidates with high energy, positive attitude and a desire to lead change. In the manufacturing plant, the candidate will work with manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations and UAW employees to improve cycle times, job designs and layout of the plant.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactively address ergonomic and other health and safety concerns Lead the development of an overall continuous improvement plan for areas of responsibility Lead manpower planning and forecasting activities for areas of responsibility Analyze value streams using MSD and other analytical tools to establish priorities for plant improvement efforts Lead the implementation of changes by working with the plant teams and other functions to ensure a coordinated approach Implement Nexteer Production System best practices and common systems Ensure that standardized work, material handling, buffer systems and layouts remain effective as plant conditions and customer requirements change Conduct time studies to ensure machines and operators continue to work at the standard production rates and trouble shoot any problems Maintain process documentation (MSD, standardized work, routings, layouts) Engage in Layered Process Audits (LPA) and supporting audit findings and improvements Work with product line groups to analyze current capacities the impact of future programs Work with Central Engineering to launch programs won
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree:
Bachelors Major:
Industrial Engineering/Business or equivalent Manufacturing Experience (3-5 YEARS) High level of analytical skills Good interpersonal skills Good oral and written communication skills Good computer skills Working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and practices Good structured problem-solving skills or willingness to attain (Fast X/ Six Sigma/NPS) Knowledge of TS-16949 and
ISO-14001
