Job Purpose

The Process Engineer is responsible for the technical support in several workstreams such as of production issues through structured tools and documentation, improvements in metrics - specifically reductions in rejected batches, hits per batch, and cycle time. They coordinate with RDI Development and Commercial for new product introduction, and RDI, QC, and Production for product scale-up. The Process Engineer collaborates with the RDI Solutions team on manufacturing concerns, and creates and manages projects for themselves and the Process Technologist.



Key Respnsibilities

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic product problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in meeting plant goals.
  • Monitors the process performance through metrics such as RFT, MME, OEE, cost productivity, customer complaints, Waste Indices and takes action as required to correct adverse trends, performing plant based process investigations
  • Identify, design, coordinate and employ statistical evaluations utilizing the Akzonobel Lean System guideline. This will include MSA, DOE, Capability Analysis, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Provide quality and manufacturing support as required to meet specific program needs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing the plant wide Quality Management System (QMS) through maintenance and develop of SOP, One Point Lessons and Failure Mode documents
  • Assist in specification development and/or changes as requested.
  • Organizes meetings with Sales, Technical Business Partners, QC, Productions and Material Planning, to enable process initiatives such as Variable Manufacturing Cost reduction, stock optimization, cycle time reduction and capacity increase.
  • Provides expertise for on site operations group during process related troubleshooting issues- hands on with production operators, QC and maintenance technicians, working as SME of specific equipment or cell.
