Full-Time | Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a strong background in injection molding to join a growing manufacturing operation in Lexington, NC. This is a hands-on engineering role responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing injection molding processes to improve efficiency, quality, output, and overall manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will work closely with production, maintenance, tooling, and quality teams to troubleshoot process issues, reduce scrap and downtime, and drive continuous improvement across the operation. Injection molding experience is essential for this position. Candidates without a strong background in injection molding process engineering will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and maintain injection molding processes to improve productivity, quality, and cycle times. Troubleshoot injection molding process issues and identify the root cause of defects, variation, scrap, and downtime. Establish and optimize machine parameters including temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time, cycle time, and other critical process settings. Support new product launches, tooling trials, mold qualifications, and process validation activities. Work closely with Mold Setters, Process Technicians, Production, Maintenance, Tooling, and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues. Lead process improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, improving OEE, increasing throughput, and improving process stability. Analyze manufacturing and process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process parameter sheets. Support mold trials, process development, and the introduction of new molds and products into production. Investigate recurring quality and production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions. Apply root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to improve manufacturing performance. Support equipment and automation improvement projects where required. Ensure processes are operating safely, efficiently, and consistently while meeting quality requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to production and manufacturing personnel. Required Experience Proven Process Engineering experience within an injection molding manufacturing environment is essential. Strong understanding of injection molding processes, machines, tooling, molds, and process parameters. Experience troubleshooting injection molding defects and process variation. Experience with process optimization, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and improving manufacturing efficiency. Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Tooling teams. Ability to analyze process data and use findings to drive measurable improvements. Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
