Job Description
Our client is seeking a Packaging Engineer in the Metal department. This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. As a Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing packaging solutions that ensure the safe, cost-effective, and sustainable transport of our products. You will also be responsible for providing engineering support for all packaging ideas. The successful candidate will deploy problem solving skills to resolve packaging issues, reduce variability, and increase efficiency in all areas of packaging and shipping. This position will work closely with the Operations Leadership Team to execute the packaging/process strategy, including equipment selection and operator training, for their assigned areas. Primary responsibilities will focus on development of cost-effective packaging designs as well as driving continuous improvements. This will be done by utilizing Kaizen and lean manufacturing techniques to ensure key safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met.
