The Production Development Engineer is responsible for coordinating capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and driving process improvements to support production efficiency and capacity goals. This role oversees equipment implementation from concept through commissioning, while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful project execution and continuous operational improvement. Production Development Engineer Your main responsibilities will be: Lead and coordinate CapEx projects involving automated and manual production equipment from initiation through completion Plan, source, procure, and commission new production equipment based on capacity requirements, with an emphasis on local sourcing Analyze, develop, and improve manufacturing processes to meet output, efficiency, and quality targets Develop productivity plans and long-term improvement strategies, including cost analysis and ROI calculations Source spare parts, calculate min/max levels, seek cost savings, spare part consumption monitoring Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Planning, Logistics, Purchasing, Quality, Maintenance, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure project success Manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring completion within defined timelines and budgets Support equipment validation processes, including supplier FAT and internal commissioning/runoff (process release) Create and maintain technical specifications for products and equipment Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions as needed Design equipment components in CAD as required Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and engineering standards Communicate regularly with equipment vendors and service providers, including site visits as required Collaborate with global engineering teams to align technical standards and project execution Utilize company systems and engineering tools (e.g., ERP, lifecycle management, CAD software) to support daily responsibilities Perform additional duties as assignedJob Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of manufacturing principles, engineering practices, materials, and physical sciences Proven experience with capital projects, equipment implementation, and process improvement initiatives Lean manufacturing experience required; Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience preferred Experience with PFMEA, control plans, and risk analysis methodologies Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to recommend and implement improvements to manufacturing methods, processes, and resource utilization Experience developing and maintaining plant standards, SOPs, and work instructions Ability to plan, schedule, prioritize, and manage multiple projects to meet deadlines Project management experience or skills preferred Sourcing and calculating spare parts experience preferred Proficient in CAD software (Creo preferred) and equipment/layout design to optimize flow, ergonomics, and productivity Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, ProALPHA) and Microsoft Office Suite Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally High attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25-30% We offer: Tuition Reimbursement Program- We encourage team members to continue their education to support their current or future work.
