Technical Proficiency Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for verifying suppliers are capable of achieving and maintaining quality standards set forth by Lincoln Industries. This includes part specific requirements as well as supplier quality standards. The SQE will work directly with the Global Supply Chain department to perform supplier assessments, periodic audits to ensure standards are consistently achieved, and supplier performance scorecards to continuously monitor supplier performance. In addition to tracking supplier quality performance, the SQE will serve as a subject matter expert to the suppliers as the need arises to address quality problems to determine root cause, corrective actions, and cost reduction. The SQE will be the primary conduit to the supplier to communicate and resolve quality issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain communications about supplier quality issues in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and suppliers, by communicating openly, honestly and constructively, treating all employees with dignity, respect and courtesy. Develop good working relationships with Lincoln Industries suppliers. Utilize the Six Sigma Process to analyze supplier quality issues and drive improvements. Coordinate supplier corrective actions. Conduct periodic supplier quality audits. Perform risk assessment and conduct strategic risk mitigation projects Maintain supplier scorecards. Co-ordinate engineering changes through the supply chain Manage supplier PPAP events. Monitors supplier quality and coordinates reject/return/debit process. Disposition material through ERP System (Navision). Reduce Cost of Poor Quality Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals. Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education and Experience:
Expected:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university.
Exception:
Non-Engineering Bachelors degree AND 5+ years in Manufacturing AND 1+ years in Quality AND Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ) Leading talents include relationship building, positive attitude, self-confidence, process-oriented thinking, self-motivating. A technical aptitude to analyze defects and problem solve driving to root cause. Able to read engineering prints. Knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). 3 years' experience in a manufacturing field with at least 1 year in a quality role.
Preferred:
5 years' experience in a quality engineering role or manufacturing engineering role. 5 years' experience in a manufacturing field with at 2 years in a quality role. Preferably working with suppliers. 2+ years' experience in steel and aluminum castings, machining and/or fabrication. Ability to speak
Spanish or Mandarin Other Skills:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Possess interpersonal skills and good organizational skills. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form. Ability to work independently. Customer and supplier relation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills. Proficient at Microsoft Office Programs (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc). Supplier Quality assessment and auditing practices. Ability to use Minitab.
Communication Skills:
Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Must communicate clearly with suppliers in written and verbal means. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
