Process Engineer Overview We are seeking a Process Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence by improving process efficiency, consistency, and product quality. This role is highly hands-on and focused on optimizing operations through data-driven analysis, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in developing robust processes, reducing waste, and supporting production performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, quality, and consistency Develop, maintain, and update process documentation, work instructions, and control plans Identify and implement waste reduction and process optimization initiatives Analyze process performance using statistical and data-driven methods Conduct risk assessments and implement effective mitigation strategies Plan and execute process, equipment, and tooling validations Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies and structured problem-solving (8D, 5 Whys, etc.) Identify production constraints and implement solutions to improve throughput and flow Implement error-proofing (poka-yoke), visual management, and standardization practices Provide hands-on support to troubleshoot production issues and reduce downtime Partner with Quality to resolve defects, nonconformances, and yield issues Collaborate with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and preventive maintenance programs Support new product introductions (NPI) with process development, routings, and operator training Participate in design for manufacturability (DFM) and launch readiness reviews Define and track key performance metrics (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement Develop dashboards and reports to support data-driven decision-making Drive cost reduction through process simplification and optimization Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field 4+ years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering Experience in structured, quality-driven manufacturing environments Strong problem-solving skills using formal methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, root cause analysis) Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles Experience developing process documentation, control plans, and risk assessments Hands-on, floor-oriented approach with the ability to troubleshoot in real time Preferred Qualifications Experience in high-reliability or safety-critical industries Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher preferred) Familiarity with ERP systems, MES, or production data tools Comfort working regularly on the manufacturing floor Ability to support occasional off-shift work during launches or issue resolution Ability to meet physical requirements of a production environment Work Environment This is a hands-on role within a manufacturing environment, requiring regular time on the production floor. You will collaborate closely with operations, quality, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure stable, high-performing processes. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Salem, NH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $115000.00/hr.
