Job Description
The Process Engineer troubleshoots materials, processes, and tooling production issues in plastic extrusion environment. Responsibilities
- Work closely with Production Managers to resolve ongoing production issues
- Assist in transition of new process developments
- Lead process optimization and continuous process improvement activities
- Start up new equipment and train operators
- Establish and maintain best practice operating procedures
- Work with Maintenance to ensure safe, continuous operation of extrusion equipment
- Work with design engineering staff to improve equipment performance and reliability
- Support and drive the Zeus Operating System Dimensions and Guiding/Supporting Principles Prior experience in polymer extrusion preferred. Plastics experience (Injection / Extrusion) / Extrusion experience (Rubber, etc) / Medical device process is preferred
- 4 yr. Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems or Lean Certification preferred
- Able to understand and document a process accurately
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail-oriented, able to handle multiple projects
- Project management skills
- Continuous improvement, Kaizen, SPC, and TPM experience
- Team environment and independent working experience
- Black belt / six sigma desired
Hands-on-style Salary Range:
